Add Resources (Resource Manager)

Important:  If a district has any Destiny Textbook Manager installations, all textbook-related features are hidden in Resource Manager. For example, the Textbooks template will not appear in Resource Manager.

Because there might be an existing record in your collection that meets your needs or requires only minor modifications, Follett recommends that you search for the resource first. See Search Resources for more details.

Search For a Resource

  1. Select Catalog > Add Resource > Check Sources sub-tab.
  2. From the Find all drop-down, select the template you want to add a resource to.

    The template you select determines your available search and Sort By options.

  3. Make other selections accordingly.

    Note: When searching for textbook resources, Follett recommends you search by ISBN to ensure you get an exact match.

  4. Click Go.
  5. Use the following is table to complete your task:

    No records exist

    Add a Resource

    The Add Resource page appears.

    1. Click the Resource Type drop-down to select the resource group you want to add to.
    2. Fill in the fields as needed.

      Notes

      • Reports are more accurate and useful if most fields are completed.
      • To identify a title as an eTextbook, it must be assigned an Electronic Book (eBook) material type and Digital Material (never barcode) instructional classification.
    3. Select the Includes other items checkbox if you want the resource to include containers. See Resource Containers.
    4. Click Save.
    5. If you selected the Includes other items checkbox, click Yes to confirm that you want the resource to include other items.

      The Resource Details tab appears. See Resource Details.
    6. Click Save.

    Note: Search results with are already in your district’s catalog.

    Find the resource you want, then click Details.
